Laura Davies collecting her Trophy and prize money of 52.500 Euros. Along with the highest place amateur in the field Camilla Hedberg , Christina Kim and Rebecca Hudson and Frances Bondad.English Golfing Star Laura Davies picked up her 76th Career win at the Spanish Open on Sunday which was played at the impressive Los Flamingos Golf Resort in Benahavis on the Costa del Sol.
Laura scored a even par 71 on the last day to finish 11 under overall, two stokes ahead of her fellow countrywomen Rebecca Hudson, Australian Frances Bondad and the flamboyant American Christina Kim.
The four time major champion said of her visit to Spain that she was surprisedc by the huge amount of British support saying it was almost like playing on home soil. Se also commented that this was one of her best victories of her life after almost throwing it away on 13th Hole with a quadruple bogey.
Laura hit her tee shot of the 13th left high up a steep rocky slope, along with her caddie Johnny Scott they both scrambled up the embankment where Laura took a swipe, completely missing the ball, then in her haste she immediately tried to hit it again and failed , two ungainly air shots later and she calmed herself , widened her stance , and hit the ball out onto the fairway and back in play.

During the prize ceremony Laura thanked the Costa del Sol tourism board ( the moan sponsors of the event ) for all their hard work along with the Los Flamingos Golf Resort staff, the fantastic Villa Padierna Hotel ( where most of the players stayed ) and the green keepers for making this a truly unforgettable event.
